The king who resided in this great Chateau De Versailles is King Louis XIV. He lived from the Palace of the Louvre while Versailles was being transformed into the most magnificent palaces of all time. He constructed the hall of mirrors which was the greatest symbol of the powerful absolute monarchy.

THE HOTEL AT NIGHT...SHEER MADNESS!

Overlooking the Place Vendome in Paris, founded by Swiss hotelier Cesar Ritz in 1898, sits the most beautiful hotel in the world. I decided to start my series of blogs about France with this spectacular hotel which I along with my daughter Tatum , my sister cathy, and my lovely niece Maggie, had a chance to spend some time in and get to know most of the staff who are getting ready for a 27 month leave as the hotel is undergoing a major renovation. The Ritz hotel was the first hotel in europe to provide a bathroom, en suite, and electricity in each room for it's guests. The hotel has had many famous guests over the years, too many to count, but to name a few like Coco Chanel and Ernest Hemingway. Mohamed Al-Fayed purchased the hotel in 1979 for 20 million dollars and had owned it since.  Let's pray he can renovate without ruining one of the worlds finest hotels....
We will have to wait and see....I brought back these pictures of the hotel which are some of the last you will see before the 27 month renovation. Please Mohamed please!!!!!
