IN A FRENCH GARDEN....NOUS SOMMES TOUS COMME LES FLEURS.

Oh, Joy!!! It is spring! I , like many people, am thinking about my summer garden.  I went out this morning to my flea markets and favorite spots to look for the things I like to collect; one of these being french antique and vintage silver plate urns, creamers and sugarers, small trophies and the like. I fill them with fresh flowers during the winter for my mantle or tables throughout my french home. I came across this beautiful vintage mermaid stand for my garden today, and the wheels started turning in my little french head!  So I decided to do a french theme in my spring garden, by bringing the indoors out! Brilliant!!!! So i filled up the silver bowls and urns and creamers with french blue pansies and placed them out in my garden, bringing items from indoor to outdoors!! My favorite room in my house is my three season room, this looks out to my garden. I can enjoy coffee or wine in this room in the summer while peering out at this magnificent french garden that is just starting to blossom. The idea of bringing out beautiful, precious items and placing them into my garden is a new design trend that patty P is starting...Please feel free to e-mail me or ask me for some of my ideas....you are welcome to copy my ideas...that is what patty p is here for!!

I'M TURNING JAPANESE, I THINK I'M TURNING JAPANESE, I REALLY THINK SO!

SHOWN HERE WITH SOME SHELLS AND THINGS FROM THE SEA! HOW PRETTY IS THAT FOR A CANDY JAR!
HERE IS A CLOSE UP OF THE WONDERFUL TRADEMARK...IT'S THE REAL DEAL!
NEXT TO MY PRIZED SILVER URNS...
UP CLOSE AND PERSONAL SHOT OF THE BEAUTIFUL DETAIL.

Spring time brings patty P out to all the flea markets around New England, where she finds some of her great treasures she collects for her French Home, here on the North Shore of Boston. I found a beautiful little Kompeitos candy jar made and signed by the company Vantine's. Vantine's was a company that was started in San Francisco in 1840 and moved to New York in 1869. The company closed in 1951. They manufactured wares in japan for export in the west. Their trademark shown in the picture here, is a crossed imperial Chinese and Japanese flag with a Turkish crescent moon + star in the center. Kompeitos are small Japanese sugar candies....these jars were probably filled with candies in the 19th centuries. I love collecting pottery, esp from Marblehead and of course, FRANCE, but now i have turned some of my attention to Japan!
I think I'm turning Japanese, I really think so!

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF MARBLEHEAD, MY HOME TOWN.

REDD'S POND WITH STRIPES AND NO BOATS!
A VERY OLD AND SPOOKY GRAVE AT OLD BURIAL HILL.
MARBLE HEADERS DOING WHAT THEY DO BEST...DEFENDING OUR GREAT COUNTRY AND LIBERTIES.
WHO WOULD HAVE THOUGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF MARCH?
ONE OF MY ANCESTORS GRAVESTONE.

SIMPLE AND BEAUTIFUL IN IT'S OLD WAY.....
A GLORIOUS PLACE TO HAVE LUNCH FOR FREE.
WAITING FOR THE SUMMER MONTHS.

Spent the day being a tourist in my home town, a town I lived in since birth. A town I can trace my roots back almost 200 years. I found the grave of an old relative buried up on Old Burial Hill, who I am related to through my great, great uncle William Farrell. The family name is Ashton....Sarah died at age 6. I also found a street named after my great grandfather's family, it's called Farrell Ct.  I love my hometown, and this will not be the last you will see on Patty P Here!
Beautiful day for a day dream down memory lane...
God Bless America and Marblehead Forever, we sang this song as kids.

SOMEONE'S IN THE KITCHEN WITH DINAH, SOMEONE'S IN THE KITCHEN I KNOW. IT'S PATTY P WHO IS IN THE KITCHEN!!

Hello to my followers and friends of Patty P Here!! As most of you know, i am a master chef along with my other talents for fashion and other interests! Today, i am going to let go of one of my favorite own recipes of Patty P to my followers. I am in Florida with my family this week, so on my last day, i offered to cook my latest creation for the ones i love......
Here is the recipe for the delicious meal shown here in my pictures....
1 lb of whole wheat spaghetti,
2 bunches of fresh broccoli rabe chopped without stems
1 can of white cannellini beans
4 cloves of fresh chopped garlic chopped
6 heads of fresh sun dried tomatoes chopped
1 cup of chicken broth
1/2 cup of pasta water
1/2 cup heavy cream
1/2 stick of butter
kosher salt
red hot pepper flakes

Chop the broccoli rabe into bite sized pieces, chop the garlic heads into minced pieces.....open a can and drain a can of the cannellini beans, chop the sun dried tomatoes into small pieces.  put a full cup of extra virgin olive oil into a large skillet pan and heat to medium, add the garlic, broccoli rabe and sun dried tomatoes, and canellini  beans and saute to a medium softness with some crispness.
in the mean time, bring a full quart of water to a boil with a tlb of kosher salt in the water, add the whole wheat pasta to cook for 10 minutes,
when the pasta is almost finished, add about 1 cup of the pasta water to the broccoli rabe mixture, add the butter and the chicken broth and the 1/2 cup of cream, bring to a simmer, add the drained pasta and toss immediately, add some  fresh romano cheese on top and serve immediately!!
Enjoy the latest Patty P here's gourmet delight!!
