BEAUTIFUL ITALIAN TOLEWARE LAMPS AND CHANDELIERS.....COLLECTABLES FROM THE 40'S AND 50'S.

HELLO FRIENDS,
THE ILLUMINATION OF A ROOM OR LIVING SPACE, IS ONLY HALF THE STORY FOR A LAMP OR CHANDELIER, WHEN VIEWED AS MORE THAN "JUST LIGHTING" CAN SERVE, ALONG WITH PICTURES AND ANTIQUES, BOT ONLY AS A WORK OF ART, BUT A FUNCTIONAL WORK OF ART. I BECAME HOOKED ON ITALIAN TOLEWARE LIGHTING ABOUT 15 YRS AGO WHEN I SPOTTED A PAIR OF LAMPS IN THE WINDOW OF AN OLD LIGHTING STORE IN SOUTHERN FLORIDA. FOR THOSE OF YOU NOT FAMILIAR WITH TOLEWARE LAMPS, THEY ARE METAL WIRED DESIGNS WITH FLOWERS AND SOMETIMES FRUIT , USUALLY PAINTED WHITE WITH BRIGHTLY COLORED HAND PAINTED FLOWERS. THE PAIR I HAVE ARE WHITE METAL WITH YELLOW FLOWERS AND GREEN LEAVES. I PUT MINE IN OUR BEDROOM AND TO THIS DAY LOVE THEM VERY MUCH. I JUST BOUGHT A BRAND NEW DIGITAL CAMERA AND ONCE I LEARN HOW TO USE IT, I WILL POST ACTUAL PICTURES OF THINGS FOR MY BLOG IN THE FUTURE. FOR THIS BLOG ENTRY, I HAVE POSTED PICS I HAVE FOUND FOR YOU TO GET AN IDEA AS TO WHAT THEY LOOK LIKE. MY PAIR ARE A REPRODUCTION AND LOOK LIKE THE VINTAGE ONES I HUNT FOR AT FLEA MARKETS. THE VINTAGE TOLEWARE LAMPS AND CHANDELIERS ARE FOUND AT ANTIQUE STORES, FLEA MARKETS AND ON SITES LIKE E-BAY AND YAHOO. I FOUND A BEAUTIFUL VINTAGE ALL WHITE CHANDELIER AT AN ANTIQUE STORE AND I MAY HAVE IT PAINTED FOR MY 3 SEASON ROOM THIS SPRING. ONE THING TO LOK FOR WHEN BUYING ITALIAN TOLEWARE IS THE WIRING......THEY WERE PRODUCED IN THE 40'S AND 50'S, SO THE ORIGINAL WIRING MAY BE SHOT. IT IS QUITE EASY TO HAVE THE WIRING REPLACED AND UPDATED FOR MODERN DAY USE. THESE CHANDELIERS BECAME POPULAR AGAIN IN THE 90'S WHEN THE SHABBY CHIC DESIGN BECAME POPULAR WITH INTERIOR DESIGNERS AND REMAINS TODAY. THE BEAUTY OF THESE LAMPS AND CHANDELIERS IS THAT THEY ARE BEAUTIFUL PIECES FROM THE 40'S AND 50'S, A TIME IN INTERIOR DESIGN WAS FORMAL AND SPLENDID!!! I LOVE MY TOLEWARE LAMPS AND CHANDELIER AND I WILL BE HUNTING THIS SPRING FOR MORE AT ALL THE FLEA MARKETS I FREQUENT. I HOPE TO FIND MORE TO PUT IN MY HOUSE AND PORCHES FOR YEARS TO COME! I HOPE YOU ALL HAVE ENJOYED THIS LITTLE LIGHTING TIP AND LEARNED SOMETHING NEW ABOUT VINTAGE LIGHTING AND SEE HOW BEAUTIFUL IT IS!!!
PRETTY LITTLE THINGS FOR YOU!
PATTY P
