FORREST RODTS....OUR VERY OWN MODERN DAY REMBRANDT.....HOW LUCKY ARE WE??

FORREST RODTS WAS BORN IN 1960. THROUGHOUT HIS CHILDHOOD HE MOVED FREQUENTLY WITH HIS FAMILY, BUT HE ALWAYS SPENT HIS SUMMERS IN NANTUCKET. HE CAN TRACE HIS ANCESTRY TO SOME OF THE EARLIEST SETTLERS ON THE ISLAND OF NANTUCKET. IT IS HERE THAT BECAME THE MOST IMPORTANT INFLUENCE ON HIS PAINTING DURING HIS EARLY YEARS. FORREST IS A SELF TAUGHT ARTIST, WHICH TO ME, MAKES HIS WORKS EVEN THAT MORE UNBELIEVABLE! HOW LUCKY ARE WE HERE IN MARBLEHEAD TO HAVE HAVE HIM LIVING HERE WITH US!  IT IS MY ABSOLUTE PLEASURE TO HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO BLOG ABOUT HIM AND ALSO TO BE SO HUMBLED TO CALL HIM A FRIEND!  I STARTED THIS BLOG LAST YEAR KNOWING THAT I AM NOT A VERY GOOD WRITER, BUT I DO HAVE AN EYE FOR WONDERFUL THINGS, THIS IS ONE OF THEM!!

FOR MY OUT OF STATE AND INTERNATIONAL VIEWERS OF MY BLOG.... HIS WORKS CAN BE FOUND AT QUIDLEY & CO ON NANTUCKET AND IN BOSTON, THE GRANARY GALLERY ON MARTHA'S VINEYARD AND THE MUNSON GALLERY IN CHATHAM MA. PLEASE VISIT FORRESTRODTS.COM TO VIEW HIS WEBSITE, OR YOU CAN CONTACT HIM @ RODTS@COMCAST.NET
ENJOY THE PICTURES I HAVE POSTED HERE OF HIS BEAUTIFUL WORKS OF ART!
ENJOY AND FEAST YOUR EYES ON A TRUE MODERN DAY MASTER!

  2. Exceptional work. He paints like one who truly knows the island and her mist-ical ways. He has a fantastic knowledge of light and captures it perfectly.
