ALL OLD CANADIANS KNOW THAT WHEN THE COLD ARTIC AIR FUNNELS IN, IT IS TIME TO BREAK OUT THE TUQUES! WITH TEMPERATURES BELOW ZERO HERE IN BOSTON, THE FASHION FORWARD FASHIONISTAS ARE WEARING THEIR FABULOUS TUQUES TO STAY WARM AND LOOK WINTER CHIC!
THE DEFINITION OF TUQUE IS "A CLOSE FITTED HAT OFTEN WITH A TASSEL OR POMPOM FROM THE CANADIAN FRENCH
'! I HAVE POSTED PICS OF CELEBS WEARING THEIR TUQUES AND AS A SPECIAL TREAT, I HAVE POSTED PICS OF SOME OLD , GREAT CANADIANS WEARING THEIR TUQUES UP IN MONTREAL WHERE THEY STARTED! THERE ISN'T A BETTER SITE SEEING GUYS LIKE HOCKY GREATS, JEAN BELIVEAU AND HENRY THE " ROCKET" RICHARD WEARING THEIR CANADIAN TUQUES WITH PRIDE......SOME OF THE GREATEST TO EVER PLAY THE GAME OF HOCKEY!! TO ME THEY HAVE SUCH GREAT FASHION SENSE AND SURE KNOW HOW TO STAY WARM APRES HOCKEY!! MANY DESIGNERS HAVE JUMPED ON BOARD WITH THEIR FASHIONABLE TUQUES!

  4. Patty, My mom's family is from Canada and so I always referred to knit hats as tuques but no one knew what I was talking about. I brought my kids up calling them tuques, too. Loved your blog!

  5. thanks annie! yes, as a true canadian, you know what a tuque is! i first heard the term from my husband who is canadian. i always raised my kids with the term tuque as well...it is just part of our family just like chesterfield is a couch! happy new year to you!

  7. These hats are absolutely the greatest. I have a friend who works at a skating rink and he wears them all the time and swears by them for warmth! A great way to greet the new year. Thank you for posting this!
